Infant Checkup and Vaccinations Available

Infant checkups are available on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 8:30AM-11:00AM.
Please make an appointment before your visit.

Appointments are unnecessary for vaccinations*.
Please visit on Monday, Wednesday or Friday from 2PM-2:30PM.
*Appointment is necessary for the Rotavirus vaccination. Please see below.

Clinic Overview and Characteristics

Infant Checkups: Appointments required. Children will receive continuous checkups with a primary physician until the age of three.

Eligibility
  • Infants born at St. Luke’s International Hospital: 1-month checkups are done on Friday mornings. Further monthly checkups are done in the mornings from Monday to Thursday.
  • ・ Infants born at another hospital with no noted abnormalities: Thursday afternoons

*If the infant’s sibling received a checkup at this hospital in the past, please let us know when making an appointment.
*Healthy children are eligible. Please change your appointment if your child has cold symptoms.
Fee
  • 1-month checkup: 8,800 yen (tax included)
  • Other checkups: 7,700 yen (tax included)

  • Public expense form (for eligible monthly checkups)

Available vaccines No appointment required: Hib, PCV, Rotavirus, DPT-IPV, BCG (tuberculosis), Hepatitis B, Measles-Rubella, Varicella (chickenpox), Mumps, Japanese encephalitis, Diphtheria
Appointment required: HPV, Hepatitis A, Rabipur (rabies), influenza
Precautions
  • Even when appointments are not required, vaccinations may be temporarily stopped due to supply shortages or other reasons.
  • Vaccinations cannot be done without understanding of the child’s vaccination history. Please make sure to prepare this information in advance.
  • Vaccinations are not done for those in Japan to visit or in-between travels.
  • When the child is accompanied by someone other than a parent (or guardian), a vaccination form and letter of proxy signed by the parent or guardian is required. Only those well aware of the child’s health condition may accompany the child.
  • Please inquire in advance if the below applies to you.
    - This is the child’s first vaccination after having a seizure
    - The child has allergies
    - The child has just been discharged from the hospital or is scheduled for an upcoming surgery
    - The child has had an infection or has been in contact with someone with measles, rubella, mumps, or varicella (chickenpox) within the past month
    - The child is receiving continued treatment with a physician for a special illness, etc.
